Probably the Longest Blog Post in History

After taking a few days to look back at my blog and remember I've decided to pick it up again.  I mean, I'm not really sure who actually reads it, but that's not the point.  The point is for me to remember.  To remember what a great life that God has given to me and also I have a million ideas all the time about things I'd like to learn about or discover... so this will be a place for me to put it out there at least. I hope it is enjoyable in case you happen to stumble upon my writings.

This fall has been a great one, but wow- winter has snuck up on us here and given us the cold already. Here are a few family pictures we made.  It was a 20 minute session and to my thinking... if it's not possible to get an ok picture in 20 minutes, it's not possible at all.  Thankfully, the amazing Rachel Rhinehart is able to get a lot more than just one good photo. Also, Ben's glasses change in the sunlight and that's why his eyes are dark.  hmmm

This summer I saw the most beautiful rainbow I've ever seen here in Kansas.

We of course went to the pumpkin patch!

 It was very cold

I took a trip with my choir to Washington, D.C.  It was a great trip and we were able to sing in the National Cathedral.  It was magical for me.

Helen Keller's resting place.

I went on my first field trip this fall. To an old stagecoach stop.

Halloween happened... and it's now after Thanksgiving and they STILL had candy. I've now hidden it in the basement.

I ordered one of these.  It's a pint sized ice cream maker. It's pretty cute but now that it's cold I don't want cold things.

I saw this art work and I love it so much!

My health... it's a constant effort for me but it's getting easier. I've lost almost 80 lbs now and I'm doing well with keeping it off. Of course there is the fluctuations here and there of a few lbs, but I'm grateful for all that I'm learning.  I'm learning that lifelong change is something you really have to want, and that it's very very easy to eat poorly. But I persevere and praise the Lord that He has led me this far.

I put up my tree early this year. It makes me smile.  Too bad half of the lights have decided to go out since this photo... I'm working on it.

This girl... this is how she is most of the time and I was tucking her in in this photo.

Gwen got glasses. I had no idea how bad her eyes had gotten!  Forgive me!

This about sums it up!

We recently traveled down to Abilene, Texas for my brother's wedding. Here we are on our way at a BBQ joint.

We went to a prairie dog preserve. I had seen it as something to do in Abilene and knew I had to see it. We went two days in a row.

We found a painted rock there at that park. Here's Romy with her Aunt Stephanie.

The kids enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool.

We had some time to kill so we shopped in a thrift store. Romy tried some high heels.

So did Zeke...

oooo and masks

on our way to the wedding!

Gwen's anti smiling sometimes

My brother and Romy

Look at this punch bowl!  Gorg!

Love this pic!

I hadn't met LeighAnna before in person until this trip.  She's very nice and I'm looking forward to getting to know her better over the upcoming years. So happy for them both.

Romy kept putting her foot up in the air. I think as a pose. Someone told her to put it down and she didn't like that much.

My niece Chloe and my nephew Clay are in this photo with my kids. They are great.

Me, my mom and my sister. Don't you love mom's hair?

My Aunt and Uncle came for the wedding too.  My dad's sister and brother in law.

LeighAnna's mom made the wedding cake.  I can't even imagine how much work went into it. Bottom layer was vanilla, middle was peanut butter (I had a piece of that and good), and top... who knows.  Grooms cake was snickerdoodle flavor!

Steph and her two kids

Goofing before the ceremony.  Romy was a flower girl and she was nervous, but did just great.

The day after we returned it snowed. We got maybe 4-5 inches. The kids built a snow fort.

We stayed home all day and had some crafting time.

I'm helping to write some curriculum for the kids at our church on the book of Philippians. I think it's going to be gem themed.  Can you tell I chose that theme?

Give me a holler if you read this until the end because you get a jewel in your crown for doing so!
