Stuff I'm Learning
Well... here it is... the rant post. I guess every blogger is entitled to at least one even if they don't publish it, which I haven't decided I'm doing to or not at this point. I feel overwhelmed most days. Gwen screams most of the day... and I mean loud. She gets spanked, sent to her room, and the circle goes round and round. I work with Zeke for hours on end at crawling. He gets frustrated and we both cry together. It's not all like that though. We laugh and tickle and learn and grow. Change is coming... that's for sure. I've been short on words for this blog lately because I've just been in a funk. I mean, how do you balance a vibrant walk with the Lord, a love relationship with your husband, have friends, and raise kids all at the same time? I haven't figured it all out yet. I know I am blessed. I guess with motherhood I worry more than I ever have in my life. It feels like I can't help it because I love my kids so much. I worry I'm not raising them correctly as God would want, I worry Zeke will never move and I'll be carrying a 50lb 3 year old around. Seriously, I'll think of something to write about sometime.. but I'll try to keep the whining and self pity down. Like anyone wants to read that? You still there? CONGRATS!

Let me just start by saying, "I feel your pain!" and what good are we as sisters in Christ if we can't bear one anothers burdens? I know the need so well to have a person to vent to and share your worries and use as a sounding board for your thoughts. I think venting keeps us real. So often we try to make our lives look better to the outside world than what they really are, why? Because we are afraid to admit that we face trials as God's children? Oh,how He loves us Meredith. Did you know that Carly didn't walk until she was 17 months old!!! Talk about worrying, she didn't even crawl, she scooted around on her hiney sitting straight up like her legs just wouldn't work. I was just convinced she needed therapy, and others advised it. For some reason I just waited and finally she did it, but I worried and worried. God created Zeke for His own glory. If I could say one thing about the sitution with Gwen, it sounds normal, although I know not terribly fun. Whatever training you do stay consistant and in the end it will pay off. Love you and your blog, and your meal plans!! This is I am convinced one of the hardest, yet MOST rewarding seasons in our lives. But if I had a blog you would likely see a very similer post as soon as next week. We have all been sick and that is never fun!! Please keep blogging!!
I agree with Jennifer. Please keep blogging. I actually laugh out loud at your posts sometimes. Especially when you find funny stuff in kids books. I know what you mean about the cycle that seems never ending. Gwen will eventually quit screaming and that baby boy will move when he gets ready.
Meredith, my days are not all that different from yours - Annalise has been going through a scream-o thing too. Why do you think my last few posts have been about bugs and frogs? Because I don't want to write about the kids and how horrible a mother I feel some days - it is encouraging to me to know that you feel similarly because I am confident you ARE an excellent mother, so maybe I won't ruin my children in the long run.
Tonight Gwen was so sweet!!!! but Zeke decided that he didn't like his granny P. From the minute Ben handed him to me, he cried. Then when I gave him a plastic water bottle, it was the only time he didn't fuss for me!
You have to realize that you are doing a really good job mothering those two kids. Remember they are really close in age and that makes things difficult to start with. Ben didn't walk until he was 15 months old. Zeke will be fine. I am sorry that you have to work with his little legs to get them stronger. Those two kids are wonderful sweeties. However Zeke has got to start crawling soon or your back will break. How much does he weigh now?
